Yes. We can send a material swatch pack (showing colors and textures) or produce a custom prototype. Prototyping takes 14 days and carries a sampling fee.
No. After the tanning and finishing process, it has a neutral, earthy, woody scent, very similar to high-quality artisan paper or vegetable-tanned leather.
Yes. Mycelium acts like a natural glue, binding organic matter into a dense mat. We reinforce it with a Tencel™ backing to prevent stretching, making it suitable for daily carry.
It is water-resistant. We apply a natural wax coating that repels light rain and spills. However, like genuine leather, it should not be submerged in water.
We highly recommend Debossing (Hot Stamping). The heat and pressure create a beautiful, deep impression that looks premium. Foil stamping is also available.
Yes. Unlike "Vegan Leather" (PU/PVC) which is liquid plastic, Mycelium is 100% bio-based. We do not use plastic coatings.
Yes. Since it is organic matter tanned with vegetable tannins, it is home compostable at the end of its life (remove hardware first).
It is grown in vertical indoor farms using agricultural waste (sawdust) as food. This process uses 99% less water and land than raising cattle.
