Guide to custom apparel fabrics and materials
Step 1

Choose Your Core Fabric

The fabric determines the garment's comfort, durability, and price point. We source everything from organic cotton to performance blends.

  • GOTS-Certified Cotton: Premium, soft, and breathable. The sustainable choice for high-end T-shirts.
  • CVC (Chief Value Cotton) Blend: A 60/40 cotton-poly mix offering both softness and durability, resisting shrinkage.
  • Performance Polyester (rPET): Moisture-wicking and durable. Ideal for polo shirts and athletic wear. Available as GRS-certified rPET.
  • Fleece (Cotton/Poly Blend): Soft, warm, and durable. The standard for high-quality, anti-pill hoodies and sweatshirts.

Step 2

Select Your Branding Process

We match the right technique to your design and garment for a retail-quality, long-lasting finish.

  • Screen Printing: The gold standard for T-shirts. Cost-effective for bold, 1-6 color designs, providing a soft-hand feel.
  • Premium Embroidery (3D/Flat): The classic choice for polos and hoodies. Adds texture and a high-perceived value to your logo.
  • DTG (Direct-to-Garment): For photorealistic, full-color images on cotton. Ideal for complex artwork on small-batch T-shirts.
  • Heat Transfer (Vinyl/Digital): A versatile option for applying full-color logos to performance polyester or complex locations.

  • Fit & Sizing: We provide detailed spec sheets for all garments (Unisex, Men's, Women's fits) to ensure you get the right sizes for your team.
  • Custom Woven Labels: Remove the factory tag and add your own custom-woven brand label for a fully retail-ready item.
  • Hang Tags & Packaging: Elevate the unboxing experience with custom-printed hang tags and individually folded/poly-bagged garments.

Apparel Sourcing FAQ

Direct answers to the most critical questions about sourcing custom core apparel.

What is your MOQ for core apparel?+

Our Minimum Order Quantity for t-shirts, polos, and hoodies starts at 300 pieces per design for custom cut-and-sew manufacturing.

What is the lead time for sampling and production?+

Typically, a physical pre-production sample takes 5-7 business days. After sample approval, mass production turnaround is approximately 14-22 business days depending on volume and decoration complexity.

What's the most professional option for a corporate uniform?+

A custom polo shirt with an embroidered logo is the gold standard for professional yet comfortable corporate uniforms. The collared style is business-appropriate, and embroidery provides a premium, long-lasting finish.

What's the best apparel item for a large-scale giveaway?+

For large events where budget is a key factor, a classic cotton T-shirt with a one or two-color screen print offers the best combination of cost-effectiveness and high visibility.

Screen Printing vs. Embroidery: What's the difference?+

Screen Printing uses ink, which is best for larger, complex, or multi-color designs on T-shirts and hoodies (it's cost-effective at scale). Embroidery uses thread, which is best for smaller logos on thicker items like polo shirts, hoodies, and caps, giving a premium, textured feel.

What sustainable material options are available?+

We offer a wide range of eco-friendly fabrics, including GOTS-certified organic cotton for t-shirts and GRS-certified rPET (recycled polyester) for performance polos and hoodies.

What is CVC (Chief Value Cotton)?+

CVC (Chief Value Cotton) is a cotton-polyester blend, typically 60% cotton and 40% polyester. It's very popular because it combines the softness and breathability of cotton with the durability, anti-shrinkage, and moisture-wicking properties of polyester.

How do we ensure we order the right sizes for our whole team?+

We provide detailed sizing charts (spec sheets) for every garment. The most effective strategy is to send out a simple survey to your team members to collect their preferred sizes before placing the final order. We can also provide a size-set of blank samples if needed.

Can you do custom-woven neck labels?+

Yes. For a fully retail-ready product, we can remove the factory's standard tag and sew in your own custom-branded woven labels (or print a tagless label) inside the neck. This is highly recommended for building a premium brand.

What is DTG (Direct-to-Garment) printing?+

DTG (Direct-to-Garment) is like a large inkjet printer for fabric. It's excellent for printing highly detailed, full-color, photorealistic images directly onto 100% cotton garments. It's best for complex artwork but can be less cost-effective than screen printing for very large runs.

What artwork file do I need to provide?+

For Embroidery or Screen Printing, we require a vector file (.AI, .EPS, .PDF) with all text and logos converted to outlines. For DTG printing, a high-resolution 300dpi raster file (.PNG with a transparent background or .PSD) is best.

How do you ensure color matching for our brand (PMS)?+

We use the Pantone (PMS) matching system. You provide your brand's PMS codes, and we meticulously match the screen printing ink, fabric dye, or embroidery thread color to your exact specification to ensure brand consistency.
